Zeryn Thalix, High Priest of the Threshold Conclave

This is Zeryn Thalix, a high priest of the Threshold Conclave.

I built this character live with Cohort 7 of The Extra Mile, across eight weekly sessions. Every piece of ornament has a reason behind it, and working those decisions out loud with the students was a lot of fun. Here is a bit of the background story for reference:

The custodian of the Ninth Threshold, Zeryn serves as mediator, judge and guardian of one of the most important transit corridors in the Inner Drift. His authority comes from centuries of Conclave precedent and a commitment to impartiality. His purpose is simple: keep the path open.

The idea with the design is to combine the presence of a high ranking official with the practicality of a lifelong traveller... Layered fabrics, aged leather and ceremonial metalwork speak to centuries of tradition, and subtle augmentations hint at a society where biology and technology evolved together. I wanted him to feel like a living representative of an institution… calm, impartial and impossible to ignore.

Also I've added every character from the previous cohorts lives in one place, with the story and design thinking behind each one in case you are interested: tem.pablander.academy
